Found this topic in one French forum.
I don't speak French but I'm guessing that, this topic is about old custom cars made in France. Lots of pictures, lots of pages.

I really like when customs are made out from non-US cars. Well, I dig US too, but there's just something in those Euro's.....

    Enjoy.

Edit: sorry, forgot to put the link here too:)

The name of the game is that you work with what you have available. Some of them Frenchies look mighty nice.

Chopper, welcome to HAMB. I recently sold a spray gun to a guy in Tallinn.

That's right... 20% of the cars shown here look pretty good. :D
The fact is the Hot Rod and Custom scene only emerged in France circa 1980 and most of the cars in those days weren't built with what we can call "good taste", just because "we" didn't know much about this culture.
    It's going better and better...:)

    Thanks for the welcome, 286merc.

Well, they might look like a **** or like pearls - they all look interesting anyway.
Here in Estonia, the tuning is really popular, but the the rod/kustom scene is actually close to zero. Only very few people know something about this kulture .There has been some attempts, but......Well, I hope it's growing here too. At least I'm trying to spread it, through some car forums in here.

Amd I don't know about other countries, but in here we actually can't change a thing on car. The laws are very strict and about everything is illegal. Hope, it's changing a bit soon, cause these laws are about 13 years old, if not even older.

Ehh....now I've floated away from the main theme.

You have to know that we're not very pround of cars from that period ! It was in the 80's, when it all started in France, and cars were a melting of everythings the guys saw in the magazine !

there was no "rod", "leadsled" or "street machine" categories but kinda put everything i like in the same car...:(

    We've learned a lot since then ...

Dont' get me wrong....I did'nt mean to make a joke about it. I apologise, if someone is feeling bad because of that. As I said, they're all interesting to me and I just wanted to let some other people to see 'em too.
