What are some of the important show dates this summer/east coast I was wondering because I'm a member of my local Jaycee's and we have a huge farm with lost of flat land to have a weekend car show. I'm just thinking out loud about this and have never planed a large show / or small for that matter. How many HAMB members would go to something like this if they could camp out over the weekend and party? Maybe listen to some good Blue Grass bands???? The location is in MOREHEAD KY. Two hrs. south of Cin. OH and 3 hours south of Columbus OH , Two hour east of Lousiville KY Basically in the hills of beautiful Kentucky .. Just a question?
BTTT Just a question? Are there No hamb member in KY? Ohio is having an ice cream social : I can't eat ice cream How many hamb member are in KY ? 30 people looked at this and not one reply....What are you so afraid of The Dueling Banjos........?
I lived is Syracuse for 3year. Nice town and people , Great restuants. Its alot eastern Ky believe it or not. But the food is better. That show is fun. Thanks for invite.
Billetproof Detroit Hunnert Car PileupChigago Lancaster Nostalgia Dragsupstate NY ask Denise, she knows 'em all. Sorry, I don't have dates off the top o' my head.
Spring Carlisle is the weekend of April 19-23-not many rods but lots of cars and tons of parts. York(NSRA Nationals East) is the first weekend in June. Your plans sound good, but maybe a bit far for me here in central PA what with work, gas and all. Oh yeah, and a daughter getting married in mid-July. Guess I should be there for that.
20-23 Apr:.....Spring Carlisle swapmeet, PA 5-7 May:.......NSRA @ Knoxville, TN 20-21 May:...Jalopy Showdown, Latimore Vallry F'ground, PA " " ................Good Guys, Hershey, PA 10-11 Jun:....Historic (sports car) races @ Virginia Intx Raceway, VA 25-27 Aug:...NSRA @ Richmond, VA 9 Sep:.........Hot Rod Hoedown, Wilmington, DE 28-31 Sep:...Fall Carlisle, PA 7-9 Oct:.......NHRA @ Richmond, VA 27-29 Oct:...Good Guys, Charlotte, NC Over where you are near Columbus/Bowling Green, there are some HUGE NHRA, NSRA, and GG events. Check their websites' calendars carefully before picking a date for your event. Finally, for an example of an excellent "small" event, check out Scary Larry's Jalopy Showdown. Now you know the "important" contents of my PalmPilot. Hope this helps.
Also, GG Indy is the weekend of June 9th Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green is June 16th weekend GG Nashville is the weekend of June 23th GG Columbus is the weekend of July 7th NSRA's Nats in L'ville starts on Aug 3th and don't forget about the HAMB Drags the weekend of Aug 25th but yeah, it sounds like a GREAT time and I LOVE the hills of KY. Count me in if it doesn't conflict with something I already have planned.
I think that's an awesome idea. There are several HAMBers in Northern KY and southern OH, and lots in Tennessee. I'll bring my banjo if you can find someone to play the damn thing
I think you'll get better replies if you correct the heading, Kentucky is a nice state and all but it's not on the East Coast.
Aug 11 - 13, 06 is the Nostalgaia Drags, and the Willys Home Run in Buffalo, Lancaster Dragway. Cool weekend, all pre 72 and over 100 real steel Willys, Anglias, and short wheel base Gassers.
Well therre are the Right Coast events all summer long- might not be as traditional as you are looking for (no rockabilly bands or the like) , but the events have EVERYTHING to see- www.rightcoastcars.com
Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree Aug. 25,26, 27, Macungie Pa. rods &customs up to 63. Limited to 2300 , last I heard there were 2100, nice show but I hope they didn't shoot them selfs in the foot by raising the entry to 45.00. I wouldn't go but its only three minutes from my house, and our whole club goes about 20 cars.I like Syracuse.

I don't know if these rank as important to most, but for the most fun you can have at a car show, check out these two east coast events: Blood Sweat and Gears, Raleigh, NC Saturday, April 22, 2006 http://www.vendettascarclub.com/shows.htm Heavy Rebel Weekender, Winston-Salem, NC Saturday, July 1, 2006 http://www.heavyrebel.net/ -murph
