One of the HAMB's long time Alliance venders is The Hot Rod Company. They sell mostly Stromberg carburetor parts but also lots of other hot rod stuff. Anyway, I was getting ready to order some more carburetor parts but noticed they no longer had the HAMB Alliance logo. I sent them an e-mail and got a return message staying they are closing their shop and selling off inventory. I'm reluctant to buy from a firm that going out of business.
Is there another reliable company that HAMB members use for the Stromberg Carburetor needs?
    Thank you.

Uncle Max is an authorized Stromberg dealer and an expert in all things Stromberg. Plus, he's a really nice guy who is very helpful with any Stromberg questions or service.

That ****s, I was just checking out their website yesterday as I was searching cloth covered primary wire. I am not at that stage in my project yet but I guess I will need to figure it out soon and get an order in.

A little disappointing, I used them for the great selection of cloth covered wiring.

Yes, I ordered from them too and never had a problem. I don't see Uncle Max listed on the Alliance vender list. Am I misreading it? Does anyone know for sure if he is a current Alliance vender?

Don't think anyone mentioned him as a Alliance Vendor just a good vendor that deals in Strombergs.

I just received spark plug wires from them that I ordered a week or so ago. I had no indication that they were shutting the doors.

I hate to see that happen, I've ordered stuff from for quite a while and always got it in a timely fashion.

Ss long as the parts are in stock, buy them. I don't know the person or the company but if he's a stromberg expert Im guessing he'll still deal with strombergs on some level, maybe just downsizing.

  14. So who is another good supplier for cloth covered wiring?
I bought my plug wires from them, and other stuff.
The dealings went really well, hate to see them go away.

I buy all my cloth covered wiring from Rhode Island Wireworks in (you guessed it).....
They have every size and color combination that you can dream up for a very reasonable price...service is excellent.

Kelly, George Moir in Stony Plain just outside Edmonton carries cloth covered wire. That's where I get mine from.

  18. Thanks Ian,
Good to know, especially with how the $ is now.
I just placed an order from Moirs on Thursday.
I'll have to include some on my next order.

I can also recommend Rhode Island Wire for cloth covered wire. Very nice prices compared to most other suppliers. And they have EVERYTHING you may need.

Bummer they're closing shop, I have bought stuff through The Hot Rod Company and always had a good experience.

  21. They had the largest selection of Guide BLC parts for headlights. I've recommended them to several HAMBERS over the years. Just a shame..

Yup the close to 30% cost increase in buying anything out of the U.S. has pretty much not made it worth the effort anymore especially when you factor in shipping and duty.

Hope this is not true . Great guys to deal with.
Though the alliance list is not strictly up to date, with companies such as "Savage speed" and "vintage driveline" showing bad links. The HAMB needs more supporters not less.

  25. Kiwi 4d is correct- I've been perusing the alliance list the last couple days and noticed it needs a bump

I'm very sorry to read this, as I've bought several items from HRC during the build of BGII, my roadster. Hopefully this is just a downsize, and they'll still be here. That blog link says nothing about closing up, not that I saw, anyway.

Blog is updated, all seems normal day to day business as usual & website says nothing? So is this entire thread a Rumor? Maybe someone should alert them of this thread so they can come on & say "What's Up?"

    Ok. Yeah.
    Meant to say:
"I am curious to hear what The Hot Rod Company has to say publicly"
