Hey, looking for your opinions on a Cad air filter that I was offered. Need to know what you think is a fair market price. Housing in in great shape with only a few dings, nothing major. So tell me what you think is a fair price. The guy is asking $200 and seems to be set on his price.

    Thanks

I'd tell 'em to keep it.

  3. sounds a little pricey to me, but here in Arkansaw ,at most swap meets they run from $40 to $125. But then again this is Arkansaw where rust is what you find most.

Depends on the style and year. A good amount of people around here call the black ones batwings, but they are not. True batwings are gold. If it is a 4 bbl one it is worth between $80-200. If it is a true batwing dual quad it is worth $1000-2500. They also reproduce the early black ones for about $150-$250 I think. They are scaled down a little.

The earlier black ones use a dual inlet and the later black ones use a single inlet. It sounds like his isnt worth the price if it is black, unless it is really nice.

This is a single carb, two inlet type. Don't know original color, it has been blasted and primered.

Check ebay for costs... Always see one or two of them on at any given time.

On eBay, they seem pretty constant at between $140 and $200, usually don't go over $200. He's asking top buck, but if it's nice, it'll bring that. I can never find one at a swap meet for less than $100.

When searching expired listings, I have found the same to be true.

Cheapest one I ever found was $125.00. (Locally, was pretty rusty)

Seen a few at car shows nicely painted and striped from $250.00 to $300.00.

    Another option:
Bitchin products sells a cast aluminum repro for $196.50. (3/4 size of the original)
