I'm cleaning up the frames for the vent windows and replacing the glass in my 53 chevy pickup. Any suggestions on removing the bolt at the bottom of the window track...the one that is inside the lower part of the door. I can't get it to break loose for the life of me and can't think of any way of getting it out other than cutting the door apart!?

Take the access panel off the bottom of the door for the bottom hinge and you can reach in through the hole behind the hinge and reach that bolt from the bottom.

I got everything loose except the bolt at the bottom of the track...the one you reach up to get to through the access panel. That bolt will not come loose and I'm stumped on how to get it out other than cutting a hole in the door panel.

  5. Have you tried "persuading" it with the Oxy torch? Get it red hot and then start wrenching.
Try WD40, spray lube etc first of course.

I tried but you can barely reach it with your hands and you are "working blind" because you can't see it as your trying to wrench on it.

  7. Do those pick-ups have removable door trims? If so, maybe a visit from the angle grinder is on the cards. If they don't have inside door trims (As I think they don't), you could cut a hole and then fit one of those little half round ashtrays in it. Don't forget to learn how to smoke.

Maybe I'll have to cut a hole in the panel and then add a cup holder!! The last thing I need is another ash tray full of change rattlin around!

I'd soak it down with PB Blaster or some other good rust solvent and let t soak in a bit and have another go at it. Remember that you have to turn the nut counter clockwise to get it off and sometimes being upside down and backwards gets a guy turned around on which way to turn the wrench.
