Show is some more pictures! One picture is teasing.

There was more then one mill avalible in 51, and I could have changed a lot of engines in its life time.
But pics of motor, pics of the head, distributor and water pumps helps a lot!
There will be some number castes in block and head, that gives a tell about what it is.

Or frame/ch***is number. But hold a little out on that part, till some of the experts point out what part is needed.
Info on trans maybe rearend ratio, if stock.
    Does it have OD?

And for my own curiosity, post some of the whole car!

Using the browser or the app. You might get better luck with the app.

Although it's a little fraunt (sp?) upon, but I use it a lot! Or maybe somebody else will guide you for a web tutorial.

Thanks for the replies. It definitely meet a paint job. . I'm very impressed with the flathead. This is my first. Love ed it as soon as she started up. Couple more things. Frame was notched Already and a4 link. It needs a heater. And a headliner. It had power windows and door poppers. I'm not a big fan of power options but.... anyone know any good pinstripers in the st louis area or within 5 hrs?

By the way. I bought it and drove it 75 miles home in 18 degree weather. In the dark while it snowed and it didn't even miss once. . I've never had a car treat me that good from the jump! !!! I've had it for a week now and can't find even one drop off oil on the driveway. . Wth?? Guess I'm used to Harleys. .

That most baffle you, but I can help think you have a very English/BMC/BLMC moment: if it doesn't drip oil, it's out of oil!

But that's great, they are damn good motor, and deserves respect and care! And a little TLC!

Looks like a good start, nice buy!

Wonder if the chrome is any good under that paint? IMHO it would look 10x better with chrome Bumpers and grill.

    Have fun with her!

My thoughts exactly, it needs the 49 Plymouth bumpers to be shiny chrome and a shiny grill. It looks like you have a good start on a nice little custom though.

I also agree with all those above that said you need some chrome on it to break up that monotone look. Some type of hubcaps as well will go a long way to transform the look to hide those late model wheels. Enjoy the Flathead, nothing sounds as good.

Btw I completely agree chrome bumpers are a must! !!

  21. 6 volt right? clean connections, make sure the ground is as solid as can be. Probably won't set anything on fire with 6 volt headlights though

Begin by making sure you have a good clean ground. Not just for headlites, but all your electrical items. Makes a BIG difference. Looks like you got 12 volt system in there now.

Yep its a12v system. They are currently wired to come on when you turn the key on. There is no way to switch from highs to lows as far as I know. There is a relay after the key. ..hmmm
