This Talbot-Logo SWB Saoutchik bodied Coupe sold this weekend at aution in France. It was my pick of the collection based on the photo of the "good" side. I wish the new ower well with the restoration, it will be a headturner when done, and provide employment for many. Bob
Man, Bob....I hadn`t seen any pics of `The Bad Side`. I know it is one of Four, but the selling price leaves me in disbelief. I would be curious to see where it is headed for Restoration, though. What a huge task....
Seeing the bad side was a shock! It had to be a wreck when it arrived in that collection, poor storage couldn't have done all that. I remember seeing the Type 57SC Bugatti being rebodied at Harrah's back in the 1970's, so the Talbot will get the same deal somewere. Sure would be fun to watch a HAMB style build thread on its rebirth. Bob
Looks like it might have settled in on it's self during transportation from the shed it sat in. I believe this is it.
If pic 1 is the bad side and pic 2 is the good side...... what was the price, at auction, for a 1 of 4 ?
What do you expect for 1.9 Million? This is what a 1949 Talbot-Logo SWB Saoutchik bodied Coupe should look like. HRP
Thanks Danny, I've never seen that photo before, great looking car when it was new. I look at it as a very pleasing car to look at, and now think of all the families it will provide for during the restoration. A million dollars wouldn't supprise me, but in the end it will sell for a profit, that is how the high end stuff works. Bob
1 of 4 ? By the time that car is finished there will be next to nothing original left. So it will a copy. Better off to just build a copy and hang the good 1/2 of that one on the wall
