what a mess this thing turned out to be . a simple rust repair . turned into a chop ,roof fill , rust repair everything mess !

the subframe was put in by a previous shop . It was welded in with the body in the wrong place etc etc etc . heres how I fix it .

    just another rusty A ....

    hammer formed cowl band

cut the rot out and a new extension

cowl is in but not finished . also new door bottom put in

hmmmm thats weird .... these usually fit off the bat with little trimming

ahhhh the body is 1 inch lower then it should be in the wheel well department

it took a 10 ton bottle jack to move the body up one inch

    much better

quarter is smashed in on the body line a good 1/4 inch

    back to normal

    mess

trying to make something from nothing . kind mad i had to make it from 2 pieces .

all tied up . sadly this body is in thin shape and i cannot finish some sections due to hoe thin the shettmetal gets

    not gonna cut it

    glass bottom tudor

    other corner

Nice work saving history. Rolling art got to love it. Are your metal shaping tool basic or do you have all the fun toys?

He sure dose make it look easy. I have a 29 A that needs that kind of attention. Let's see your tools and what would your must have tool or most used tools when it comes to metal shaping. not so much welding and cutting but shaping.

Thanks everyone !! Nothing fancy to make these panels . English wheel Shrinker stretcher bead roller tig etc . But I did just get a pullmax so that will be a game changer for me when I get it running .i don't have time to work on my own stuff at the moment .

I've been following you here and on IG for a while: your work always looks awesome...

but I note a lack of Iron City anywhere in the background. not even an Old German. :D
