I can't draw for ****, but I sure as hell can trace. Here are few of the murals I've done in the HouseOspeed International Headquarters, otherwise known as my garage. Special thanks to the artists who inspired them. Anyone Else Done This? Sorry for the big pics
Yep. Just like the one's back in high school. I got copies made onto acetate at Kinko's. Most office supply places have overhead slide projectors. I bought mine from a used office supply place. Trust me, if I can do it, any clown can. Just take your time.
Can't post a good picture since I'm at work, but I did the same thing using an overhead projector and it worked great. Look close at the background in the picture. Artwork I chose is a painting by Robert Williams, I believe. I changed the colors and flamed the 40 Ford instead of his original "torn stripes". Drawing flames on a car flipped up at an odd angle was a *****, but it all worked out.
You could go that route ... or hire Coop. HE works big. What do you think he'd charge to do a custom garage wall? 10, 20, 30,000? Plus expenses?
Looks great. Im finally getting my first "my stuff only" garage built and Ive ordered my door, 8 x 14 insulated so I will have a flat inside surface. I was going to have a picture I took at Bonneville of the Old Crow belly tank, blown up and mounted to the door. But estimates of between 1000 and 1400 bucks has put that to rest. I like your idea of using a projector and tossing some paint down. I may just give this a try.
Wow they came out great. Ive seen this method used before by professional airbrushing guys on cars and trucks but never thought of doing it myself. Yours deffiently came out looking amazing and I might have to give this a try in the near future. -Jon
