My brother in law replaced mine so this info is second hand and I am sure Mr Goodell would give some advice too. Attach the tie rods and use them to alline the crossmember.

I have fitted two of these crossmembers. The tip is to clean all trace of the old welds off the attaching points and make sure when you sit it inside the ch***is rails that is sitting where the old one was. I didn't bother putting the lower control arm pins in but that could be a good idea. If you do I would suggest that you instal a 1/8" shim between the crossmember and the control arm on the front. When you lay the crossmember inside the ch***is rails it will sit perpendicular as it is a snug fit. I simply aligned where it needed to go by the slots that the original is ***embled through. The Goodell member does not have these tabs so if you line it up with where the originals went through you have to be in the right place. When you instal the lower control arm you use shims on the front to take up any discrepancy. I arc welded the top of the rail in place as I wanted the guarantee of the strength of the arc as against using a mig.. I migged all the other areas.
I hope this helps. It seems like a daunting project the first time you do it but it really is a simple task.
I ***ume you have taken the front clip off the car. That's what I did. It would be nigh on impossible to day properly otherwise.
