Can someone please tell me what I have on my '35 Ford 5 window coupe doors? I wasn't able to upload any pictures for some reason. I can tell you the connecting arm from the door pull to the latch is long. It goes from one side of the door to the other. I have seen most where the door pull mounts in the middle of the door. Do I have doors from another year? The serial number tells me that it's an early car. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. Thank you to any & all who can shed some light! Joe
i think `35 had the door latch handle more towards the front of the door , and the `36 in the middle of the door. the car in my avatar is a `35 body with `36 doors and front sheetmetal
35's & early 36's had the latch handle towards the front of the door. It was changed early on in '36. You might want to get the book, "1935-36 Ford Book" available from the Early Ford V-8 Club of America" or through the early Ford parts vendors. Lots of useful info.
let's open this up again....are 35-36 latches all the same with different pulls? anybody have pics of inner doors 35 compared 36 ford cars?
My '35 5wdw has the door handle in the center of the door. The serial number indicates a May build. When ordering upholstery for the '35 you need to specify middle or front door handle position (and the headliner configuration changed mid year). I think this is just another "Henry strikes again" proposition.
ok, I only have doors to look at (no latches , actuators/remotes and no window regulators) don't want to buy the wrong stuff everything indicates early 36 coupe...where the latch handle mounts is 2-3" forward of center and 6 bolt window regulators (looking for parts) I suspected the 35,36 coupe/sedan latches were the same....so other 35-36 actuators could be modified if needed...
