Thinking about replacing the roof on my 46 pickup. The roof has quite a few large dents I'm thinking it may be easier just replace the sheet metal. Does anyone know of a company that sells replacement roof panels/skins for a 46 ford pickup? I'm also open to the idea of purchasing a used roof if anyone has one in good shape.

    Thanks

The cab roof is, to my knowledge, not available as a repop panel. The roof section is the same from 1939 to 1947 so if you can find a roached out cab from any of those years that you could take the roof from then you're in. That is what I did when we chopped the roof on my '46. We used two cabs.

I also wonder how yours is so damaged that it can't be salvaged. Will you post pics of it please?

By the way if you do find another roof section and decide to do a chop in the process of repairing the cab it will be much easier to chop by integrating the new section into the existing roof with overlap cuts that eliminates the need for filler strips.

    Here's mine:

Thanks for the replies. The truck was originally a farm truck and over the years I think some good old boys pounded on the roof. I'll take a photo and post it this weekend.
