    2011 GNRS Not a 32 but a 27 with 32 shell and a 32 with 32 shell, http://www.kustomrama.com. Not a cheap exercise these days and your metal finishing needs to be spot on.

    Not a Deuce (26-7 T RPU) and I don't remember where I found this pic, but a better version can be found on p. 67 of Don Montgomery's Hot Rods As They Were.

    I guess it's just a case of personal preference but I have never liked the look. HRP

    Chuck Shultz also ran one in the late 30's on his A roadster;

    True.

    Can't say I like the look. I know a guy who was real keen on the idea and he had a GL***:eek: shell done in the vacuum metalising process like dash trim and the 'chrome' trim on modern cars. And it was expensive! He thought it was a great:confused:

    I guess if he likes it that's all that matters. I don't like the look either. I'm going to guess that most of the cars that had this were show cars?

    Step away from the keyboard and then imagine all the early Fords and Chevys, all kinds of early board racers and oval track cars, including the famous Millers, and high-end cars like Duesnburgs that all had "deluxe" br*** / chrome / nickel or stainless radiator shells. Just depends on what you are accustomed to and what you like. I'm not painting the stainless shell on my 29 A coupe. Gary

    All personal preference. Kinda funny how 'bright work' works on the A's, & not so much on the deuces. Maybe Henry seen a proto & said f... that, paint it, & it's cheaper too boot.

    Just fab one up in stainless!

    I think Gary Nichols is right. We just aren't used to it. If they all were chrome to begin with we probably wouldn't like the look of a painted one. Remember the 80' with the monochromatic look?
    Just my $.02.

    Sorry Clem, but I agree with the don't do it guys. I think the beauty of the Deuce grill shell is how the paint from the body and hood blends in and then the contrast of the insert, ether painted, stainless or chrome is nicer.

    That Kaska 3Window out of New Jersey is the only one I ever saw when it was featured in Hot Rod in the early 1960's. It just never cought on, looks or expence, who knows. Bob

    Those are the things that make this hobby of our s great, different people like different things, so we build what we like and others look at it and it makes them think of doing something new that they hadn't thought of before. :cool:

    I'm thinking people were really wanting a Lincoln but realized their pockets weren't deep enough.
