There are photo threads for the '47-'54's and '60-'66's already. But I want to see what I consider to be the best looking pickups ever made, the '55-'59's. My next truck will be a '58 or '59. I love the way the front end looks so tall yet so right with the right stance (low). So show me what you've got. I'll get some old pics up soon of my pop's '57 from back in 1959. Cause it's bad ass is why.
My old man's '57 Chevy pickup, El Relampago (the lightning)... Check out that floating grill. Cause it's bad ass is why. Gettin' it shiny... TJ Tuck & Roll bed cover... A couple of old buddies, wonder where they are now? Chrome door panels? Sweet interior. More TJ tuck & roll, chrome door panels, tall shifter, etc... Finally, the money maker... One day I'm going to build a clone. I hope I can do it while he's still around so he can help me and see his old truck again.
Terd, ad your shots to the other thread so we can keep them all together... You should also join the 55-59 Chevy/GMC Pickup owners group. 55-59 Chevy/GMC Pickup owners
Here is a 57 that was in a fenderbender way back in 78. parked since then. I installed some 55 frony cap parts on it. It has a 235 with the 858 cyl head the truck runs really good. The other two pictures are of a 57 we use for targret practice. OldWolf
This photo was taken by my little brother ... 30 years or more ago. He was taking a photo of HIS GTO but my 55 Cameo was in the background. The Cameo was 454/450 HP LS 6 equipped at the time. I am the taller dark haired guy. The woman in the Cameo is/was my wife and the other guy was a friend of my brother. Photo taken at Orangeburg Dragstrip Orangeburg SC ...
Can anyone point me in the right direction where I can read about where to start on my project 55 GMC Pickup? I appreciate it, I'm new here.
Here's my 59 . Daily Driven 4 years straight. Drove it from Dallas to Destin Florida back in July for our yearly family vacation. Clocked 2600 miles that week.
