Been collecting these little 4 ounce bottles for many years now. In the 40's 50's everybody and their brother made these solvent bottle's. Firestone, sears , all the car manufactures had their own brand, as did the gas stations. Some are fired on labels ,some are paper. They are fairly rare as they their main ingredient was methol hydrate and if not closed tightly would evaporate and freeze in the garage and break the bottle. I have over 130 bottles by different manufacturers.
those are fantastic! I never knew thew were so many different kinds. I bet you have been collecting for a long while...
bottles are very hard to come across ,bottles like the Kaiser Frasier ,buick, Flying A , Goodrich I haven't seen another . This is a 25 year collection
absolutely obsessed , This is only one of my many collections , although the rarest !!! 150 handy oilers , bicycle license plates , car polishing cloth tins , oil cans , safety gl***es etc
All of my stuff is flea market/ antique store purchases most of the stuff cost me no more than 5.00 some as low as a quarter.
i heard that the current plastic container CANNOT be made safe to drink from due to the Methanol and/or methanol reaction to the container, but i wonder if that holds true with gl***. Anyway neat collection thanks for sharing! -rick
And I thought that the aerosol paint can marble collection was unique. Guess people collect everything.
It's been said if you have more than two of anything.................you're collecting them. Cool collection you have there.
