Technical windshield washer solvent collection

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wood remover, Feb 25, 2015.

  1. Been collecting these little 4 ounce bottles for many years now. In the 40's 50's everybody
and their brother made these solvent bottle's. Firestone, sears , all the car manufactures had their own brand, as did the gas stations. Some are fired on labels ,some are paper.
They are fairly rare as they their main ingredient was methol hydrate and if not closed tightly would evaporate and freeze in the garage and break the bottle. I have over 130 bottles by different manufacturers.

i heard that the current plastic container CANNOT be made safe to drink from due to the Methanol and/or methanol reaction to the container, but i wonder if that holds true with gl***. Anyway neat collection thanks for sharing! -rick
