    Getting the interior worked on the 51 Styleline Deluxe 2 Dr so I pulled a dumb*** and got the interior metal surfaces painted. Door seals got pulled off and now the ones I got from SoffSeal dont seem to fit. Some pictures of the door seal placement would be greatly appreciated. It is currently in the interior shop getting done in black and red. (will get posted with updated pics when done) Will be able to post pics of the seals received if neccessary on Friday. Between work and school I just dont have the time. That and the government frowns on you hooking your phone to their computers.

    I don't have a '52 Chevy anymore to be able to advise you, but you might check with the interior shop. Someone there may have some helpful hints or know where there's a '52 to look at, even if it's in Jaurez.

    Found this;

    I have found this video however the seal is not the same. Either he is using a universal or the one they sent me is wrong. The one I have actually has the hinge seal as well and curves with the door, however then the door will not shut because the seal is too fat. Maybe I have to cut off the hinge seal portion and just use the strip. It will go all the way around without the hinge seals. It also has two pieces not just one. If anyone has a 49-54 chevy and can take a pic particularly the hinge side of the door that would help. I tried it on both sides as well so I know I have the right side.

    I got to say they are a major pain to install on our car (4dr) around the hinge area. Impala Bob's seals & are good enough for our 150 but not quite soft seals quality. They form well to the jams. I just dread the next 3 doors! I'm ocd about seeing a speck of adhesive using lots of tape & DuPont prepsol. I'm doing it doors on car. Read some other posts that say off car better, I can see why, snaking it behind hinge area is tedious when doing it right, but worth the effort. Good luck! Flux image.jpg

    Just what I needed. wasnt sure how it went around the hinge but your description of snake it makes sense and clarifies. Will probably take the door off to install as I can get a better angle on it. Right now getting it re-upholstered so gotta wait a month. Might just wait for paint in November and have the pro do it if it becomes an issue or pisses me off. Thanks for the pics. Seals are a bit different but the idea is the same. Have a great day.
