Hey sorry trying to get this app figured out. Well I stumbled across this car at a local junk yard while looking for a new rear axle. What do you all think it's worth? There asking $800 for the car, the only thing is the only part I need is the hood...

There's a pretty sweet '54 150 in the classifieds right now in Missouri.

 

I'm going to try to talk the guy down tomorrow. I would do it if I new someone who needed parts. Anyone need anything? Doors are good both front fenders are good and the rear window is not broken

 

sooner or later you're gonna need something. better to have it and not need it than.......

 

Maybe I'm missin something but if you buy that one your gonna need 2 hoods. I don't see a hood.

 

The main thing I'm missing from my 53 is the hood. I am hoping to find a 3 speed and I think the car at the scrap yard is a 3 speed...

 

There is a thread called manual steering box or something like that where the guy is looking for a steering box for 53 or 4.

I'd have to believe that your question would be "can I sell enough pieces off the car to recover a reasonable amount of the 800 or what ever I bargain him down to that I spend on the car"?

Answer: how much time and patience do you have, do you have a place to store the parts car and does the budget allow for waiting to recover the funds a few bucks at a time?

I'd think that car would be pretty much like the proverbial pig. Someone will be wanting most every usable part that is left on the car and I'd think after you keep the hood and trans and a few other things for your car you might get and offer on the remains that makes those parts fairly inexpensive if not free.

 

Did you buy this car? Im looking for an windshield. I know its been over a year but you never know. Got one
