I think I'm a little late with this... 45 years old, married, two little kids. Engineering degree from San Diego State. Into cars, boats, riding dirt bikes. My father, brother and I have been into cars since we were born. We grew up in So California. Grandpa and my dad were mechanics and my dad owned alot of neat cars over the years including a nice 40 Ford Custom and quite a few muscle cars. He did most of the work himself and taught us alot about cars and engines. My uncle still has a few old restored cars and a nice barn back in Oklahoma with an old gas pump and lots of old parts and tools. Him and my dad buddied around the midwest for the last 20 years in those old cars they had restored. A couple years ago I bought my father a nice 40 Ford pickup from my uncle who had it quite a few years. Bone stock pickup, restored driver. My dad really liked it since he had not been able to own a cool car for a long time. Unfortunately, he passed away a year later so I now have this cherry 40 Pickup sitting in my garage. Bone stock is not my style so I am in the process of making it my own, in a traditional style. Lowered, bigs and littles, hopped up flattie, etc. I know my dad would have really liked it the way I am building it. I appreciate everyones help in getting there. Here's a pic of my dad with his first really cool car and his last, both 40 Fords.
