Been into cars as long as I can remember. My son and I built built a VW Beetle when he was 16. Drag raced it a bit then went NASCAR mini-stock racing for a few seasons with a VW fastback. Got tired of that and sold everything. A year or so later, my son bought me a pair of 32' Ford headlights and said, "There, now you gotta build something". We built a 34' Ford pick up on 32' rails, chopped, fenderless and steelies with wide whites. All early Volvo running gear, B20 motor with a Judson supper charger. Still got it. Currently working on a 40' Ford standard coupe with a 283, turbo 350 and a Ford 9 inch
Welcome Pappy! Now if we could just get some help for that boy of yours. He's got issues that will never be resolved(and that's good) By the way folks. This is Loogy's dad. Lets see what you guys have been doing on that 40 coupe. Did ya get the front axle issue resolved?
Hey Dad, good to see you on here. Glad to see that you figured out the "intro" thing. Sorry, I forgot to mention that (he he he). Just kidding. Yeah, show these guys the pictures of the '40 that you made ME drive home because you were too EMBARR***ED to be seen it. Come on now Dale, YOU of all people should know that we ALL have issues.
I would have to have put a bag over my head before I would have driven the thing home with those wheels on it. I need Christopher's help modifying the front of the wishbones to move the axle forward so that will have to wait til he gets time. The brake booster and master cylinder are in. Just need to finish the plumbing. I'm putting a new fuse panel in and cleaning up the underdash wiring, hopfully in a less spaghetti like manner. That shifter is history and a new tunnel cover needs to be built but I need Christopher's sheet metal skills for that. It's basically a nice, all steel original that was hot rodded sometime in the 60's. It just needs a bit of updating to make it a safe driver.
By the way, here's a shot of the enging in the 34" and a shot of the 34', Christophers 62' and his son's pedal car
hey, I've seen that truck before... unless there's another red lead primered, blown Volvo powered Ford pickup here in the Northwest.. welcome to the HAMB Paul
