Alright so I'm new here and I am a BIG fan of early mods and stock cars.
So if your just a googler and stumbled upon this site PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP!! Its FREE and it makes it a LOT easier to find other threads and save ones you like.

Tips that might help ya.. (if your new to computers and discussion boards like this)

    1. Most small pictures can be "Clicked on" and they will appear larger
    2. When using the "quote" option delete out the pictures and any other info your not commenting on in the quote. That way we don't have the same pictures appearing over and over.
    3. Remember, the younger guys like me weren't there and often don't know the exact dates, names and facts.. When we get them wrong, please correct us in a respectful way. "If you run the young guys off now, it will all eventually just fade away"
    4. Have fun!
So I'll start off with a Nova Modified that a friend of my grandfather ran throughout Wisconsin in the late 60's and early 70's. His name is Al Schill we sponsored him as Flaherty Chev-Olds out of Port Washington WI

I see... a bunch of Wisconsin vintage modified guys, eh? This is going to be easy! I take every chance I get to post pix of my favorite car / team / driver from back in the day. Gary

I'd include "oval" at least, to distinguish these cars from other types of "modifieds" like land speed race cars and their street-able cousins. But I'd leave in a cut-off year, preferable before 1964 to be more HAMB-ish, but up to 1970 or so - before they sprouted wings (IMHO the wings ruined the class). Or just make it non-wing? Gary

We already had one of these a couple of years ago that got shut down for various reasons. I don't see this one getting much further seeing that your starting year is one year after the semi-official H.A.M.B. cutoff. Oh, and I'm not being a party pooper here as I have a modified that won the Minnesota "Stock Car" champion ship in 1966 (see my album).

  9. Mitch, try the Dogfight Forum for vintage racing , it is run by the HAMB for circle track racers like us .
