OK. I have an old yard that I've been going to since I was 15. Haven't been there in a while, but the wife and I were out driving so we drive by and I see the lot COMPLETLY EMPTY where some awesome tin used to sit. I mean, at least an acre that is just bare where some cool wagons, 70's monte carlos, chebbys and several suicide lincoln conti's used to be.

Anyway ,today I got a chance to go out there and he said "yeah, I crushed about 400 CARS:eek: . After regaining consciousness, and picking myself up out of the dirt, I said "STOP THE CRUSHER"!! and began to share the little slice of heaven I call "the HAMB". I told him about dedicated beer drinkers...er...auto enthusiasts that travel far and wide in search of good iron. I asked if he would mind if I put some of the vehicles up on the web and see if someone would buy, instead of crushin' them. To my amazement he said, "Well , I guess we could do that, but I didn't crush the good stuff, only 70's and 80's." So I went to get the digital, and started taking some pics. I even drove RSRCTD, my $90.00 '54 Olds out there.

He wanted to know what he had to pay me to sell them, and I told him 10% of the final sale price to start with, and we'd go from there. So, if you guys see something you like, 10% goes straight to the HAMB, 'cause that's where I'm sending it, care of Ryan or whoever is supposed to get it. We gots to support the habit. Moderator, PM me with an addy or pay place if this thing starts to fly. Can we auction them off to the highest bidder with the 10% going to the HAMB? Maybe I need to move it to the classi's??

Oh yeah, he said all cars will be AT LEAST $400.00:) . I said, I think we can handle that...He is going to give me prices on everything tommorow when I go out to take more pics after work.

Aren't some of you guys fixin' to make a road trip through Arkansas down to the "get together "in TX? This would be a chance to score some stuff, and drag it home. If you want it, I could pick it up and store it at my place for a time until you can come get it.

It started to rain, and the wipers are the only thing I haven't got going yet on Ressie, so I started to worry about seeing to get back. I only made it about 50 feet into the yard taking picts before I decided to call it a day. So here is a sampling of more to come.

So if everything starts at 400.00 and you got a running and driving car for 90.00, then 400.00 ought to get ya a restored car.........er, right?

I'll check the 'stud out tommorow for you. There is a whole 'nother page with links and stuff on it about this yard, but it's over in the classifieds.

    http://photos.yahoo.com/chopzuk

Here's the link to some more picts. Out of respect for the HAMB and those who are interested in some "newer" stuff, and have PM'd me already, I seperated the picts into two different folders. Not trying to sneak anything in, I just didn't remember the classified/board rules about posting "newer than 64 stuff" before I started getting responses. I am just trying to see a good home for these cars.

PM me if there is anything you want more picts of. He is not a real motivated seller:eek: , but I think cash would move the stuff for less than he's asking...

Post a pict for me of the specific caps, and I'll search.

Ressie (my Olds) laid some real bad "kar karma" (long story...do your cars have "Christine" like personalities??)on me this weekend, so I now think she's definately tough enuff to keep other guys hands off her bumpers:D

What about parts? If that '60 Plymouth wagon has rocker stainless on it, I need it, also if the front fenders have the little shields in them (looks like it does) I could use those too. Can't come and get the whole thing, unfortunately. I'll pay good $ if the shit is there and decent.

I will ask/look at the rockers/shields tommorow, if I can get out there. I'll take some pics and post them too. Any idea what you are willing to pay for good/average condition trim? so i can tell him. He doesn't want to part out, only sell whole cars, but I think the money talks...

Thanks for the pict 1lowlesabre, NOW I remeber what I'm lookin for:)

$100 for nice rocker trim pieces (the long ones) or maybe even just for one of them, and/or $100 for a pair of front fender shields. Like the fat girl at a sorority party, I'm despirate. Pics would be fantastic, thanks for your help.

Jacksonville...check in the classies for more info and picts. He's a little "different", so I'd have to ask him before you came up if you could "walk the yard" with me. My bud and I have been goin there for almost 20 years, and at times he won't let us on the yard. PM me and we'll hook up some Sat when the weather gets nicer.

Is that Daniel Salvage on Toneyville Rd? If so that dude is a trip. He is kinda scary actually. I got a Pacer front end from him couple years ago felt like he was still stuck in Vietnam or something. Not sure I would go back with out some back up! lol

You pegged it. He's a little different, but alright once you get to talkin' with him. I think he's been done wrong by enough people, enough times, he don't "cotton" to folks anymore. Don't know that I can blame him for that...I know he's got some sweet iron out there:D .

I bet he's no where near as odd as the kat in Maumelle. He has TOOOOONS of neat shit out there, and thats why, you have to catch him on the right day and at the right hour and at the exact second to get anything from him.

And then he'll hide behind the tree's watching you.

I used to have the restaurant across the street from that dude. And yeah thought I was going to get shot at when I tried to check stuff out. Restaurant didnt take so we closed it and havent been back out there in since.

  25. Re Maumelle; Sonny has also been taken by too many people too many times.. He is currently fighting with everyone trying to clean up his "eyesore".. he's been there more than 60 years. The sprawl crawl that has hit Maumelle in the last 20 or so has been a very big thorn in his ass.. This is probably why he does not want people in his yard, he thinks they are casing the place for the county.. he is really a nice guy, a bit tempermental but all you have to do is talk to guy for awhile. Dont run in there saying you want this or that NOW, work him a couple of times and learn from his stories... He has things on his list and when the time comes for that area of the yard he will gladly deal with you. Now what he actually has out there could be overstated.. A few 50's Ponchos, alot of corvairs that he says are not his.. Many trucks. The odds and ends in piles are probably where the real treasures are.. No 40-earlier stuff left. Alot of 60-70 stuff already gutted.. Most all unfortunately going back to earth..

The best place I have been to around here was in Possum Grape. For the life of me I cant rember the name or really how to get there. Several AD Chevy trucks, I picked up a hood for the one I had at the time. Rest was 40-50's stuff. Neatest thing I saw there was a VW van 60's model with the barn doors I think it had them on both sides. Gota picture somewhere. Ill have to look!

Hey, are you saying IN Possum Grape, or is it on the highway outside of Bradford going TOWARD Possum Grape? Got a trailer house he lives in, a barn/shop in the front section of the yard with the cover across the front with all the cool cars under it? Or is there another one out that way I've missed? Spill it man, spill it...
