I will have to take a look at mine over the weekend. I have a '29 Closed Cab pickup. I could swear it looks like the top pictures.

oh and just to note: in the one pic theres a ''piece of wood'' filler in the window! someone must of cut out a new piece of glass for it and either didnt have enough or measured wrong so the shaped a piece of woof to fill it in!

  7. I've got probably 20 model A windshield frames... none look like that on the sides. It does look like a A at first glance.

Could be from a Murry or Briggs built 4 door...

No I don't think its a model A, I bought a frame like that once, it looks real similar to a Model A, but if you place it in a Model A body it doesn't fit, the bottom part is about half an inch to an inch too narrow. If you were chopping it down you could take a piece of the side and add it into the bottom to make it fit, but probably better to just find a Model A frame...

  10. could this just be the difference in a 28-29 and a 30-31 frame?

Could you post a photo of the upper corner? I think it fits a 28-29 Fordor, they had two screws in front and an overlap square cut end, all other A closed car windsheilds have a tapered cut, and screws on the side.

  12. '32-'34 pickup?

  13. How about some dimensions...

  14. The wide flange on the bottom/inside is indicative of Model A. 32-34 p.u. didn't have that. I'm still thinking A.

  15. Looks like a 32-43 Ford pickup to me. HRP

Haven't seen an A windshield with screw on side pivot brackets, unless it's Briggs or Murray fordor.

It looks a lot like to one from my '29 Special coupe. I don't know if they are any different than other coupes. (Just about everything else is.) I can snap a pic or 2 this afternoon and compare.

My windshield measures the same as above at the glass. It's about 45 1/2 x 16 at the frame not counting the hinge. Looks dang close. Special coupes are different because of all the wood in them. I am not sure if the windshields are different too. I don't have a standard coupe to compare.

I was confused and just realized that there are 2 different windshields shown up above. I guess I should pay better attention.

Yes, I wish the OP would post a shot of the upper corner from the outside, 99% sure it is a 28-29 FORDOR windsheild. Bob

The Ford Model A windshields from 28-9 can be used in a 30-1 and vice versa, but there is a little difference in the flap that slides under the dash rail. Might need a little grinding for clearance one way or the other.

I've been told but haven't tried it yet, that the Model A windshield will fit into a 32-4 pickup. I'd think if it was used you would need to remove that flap all together though.

All of these windshields for the regular Model A closed cars (coupes, tudor sedans) had the parting line at the top corners cut at a 45 degree angle. The OP's frame with an overlap 90 is different, so we know it won't fit a regular body. But, it might fit the fordors (odd ducks) like The37Kid mentions.

I know its an old thread, but very similar question. I believe i have the same windshield i just picked up at a swap meet for my AV8 build on a 30 tudor.

Is it a model a windshield?

    Thanks.
It does work for a hot rod, but if i could sell it and find a model a one, i would be happier.
Any thoughts on what it might come from?

Whats odd is that macs sells the windshield bracket that looks like mine and they label it as a "28-29 Briggs Fordor, Sedan, 60A and 60B Leatherback"

First off, never trust what Mac's says in their description. Mac VanPelt (a whole different company) is trustworthy, but Mac's Antique Auto is run by a conglomerate of Chevy people.

I can guarandamntee that windshield will not properly fit your 30 tudor.

Asking someone to post photos of a 1926-27 Ford T closed car windshield, it may be a match.

I believe i finally found out what this windshield is from. I found a patent number (1666211) from 1928 in the crease of the hinge with a name Motor Products Corporation, patent by Homer G. Kellog. After a lot of research i found that it goes on a 1931 Buick 8-96 Victoria Coupe. My windshield has a manual wiper which i am sure is not original as there are other holes that probably were used for a vacuum motor. So, unless someone needs this for their Buick, i will keep it and use it for my hot rod when i near completion. It does fit and work. But it might be better suited for the correct vehicle.
