The lines of the body and the rear clip door and body are not lining up, and never will. Should I bondo a nice transforming piece? Or lead in a thick piece to join the two? For the right pictures go to post #28, or just enjoy the fun till you get there. Thanks!

Do your pictures relate to your question ?
Or do they confuse the viewer ?

  8. You'll be fucked if you lead the doors to the driveshaft yoke, that's for sure

Level it out with body filler. It will last as long as you want it to.

Go ahead and weld the oil filter to the driveshaft yolk. Run synthetic and you'll be all set.

  14. On a good note, I like the close up of the driveshaft adapter.

    Fasttime,

Well, if nothing else, let me congratulate you for being able to make use of one of those Stilko filter covers. Do you know the part # for that filter?

I'd been thinking about cutting down the depth of one of those Stilko cans to make a tach mounting cup. Good luck on your body lines; remember, lead is more traditional than Bondo.........

Can't tell what you're working on, but I'd advise against using bondo on a door edge or door pillar edge. One good bump and you're in trouble. Go for lead if ya got the skills.

body line 001.JPG body line 002.JPG body line 003.JPG 3 weeks later and I may have the right pictures! Soooo, once again.... Can a charactor line be made out of lead to either blend or combine these two different lines? Yes, the rust will be cleaned up and the welds smoothed , no, I will not weld a driveshaft from it to the door, and the Stilko is a gutted swap meet find to cover that Fram tastic filter.

  30. Well that wrap around is too low.
    How'd that happen?

You want to fill it up and carve it back make your own body lines?
Lead would be better but I bet you can get by with mud as long as the metal isn't moving around, the prep is flawless, quality filler mixed correctly.
