The 18 -19 is what I read in the local trader rag. Theres a mopar swap there this weekend if anybody cares. Pool
Just don't get your hopes up too much.... Its gotten more "Rod" friendly every year, but its still about 75% Dirt Track and Muscle Car stuff. Worth going to, just not exactly a HAMB'rs paradise if you know what I mean.
c-c-c-c-c-c-old! Not much outside this year(wonder why) if you didn't get there early you could hardly move inside. I brought home a set of block huggers. I wanted more but was tired of fighting the crowd. I'd say it was better in the past but I'd blame that below 0 artic blast. Pool
i just went for the social aspect. i usually see 15-20 people there that i know and chat with; same thing this year. you really can't do much serious looking when every 5-10 minutes someone spots you and wants to talk for a while, but that's ok. i wasn't looking for anything specific, just the "i'll know it when i see it" stuff. so i found the steal of the century; late nailhead to ford tranny bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, throwout arm, & a mercury 3-speed tranny; along with a 364/dynaslush in unknown condition. all for a lump sum of... well, i don't want to say how much, but i could sell it in the hamb classifieds or e-bay it for at least 5 times what i paid. i won't though. it's going up on the shelf for some future project that doesn't even exist yet. within 5 minutes of buying this stuff two people offered to double my money on it, but i said no. these bellhousings and flywheels are made out of unobtainium and i'd rather have it in storage ready for a project than to have to look for years to find it. it took me three years of looking to find the late nailhead factory bellhousing and flywheel that i'll be using in the T modified. the clutch, pressure plate, & throw-out bearing are probably only good for cores at the parts house, but i'll be able to see that the new ones i buy are correct by having the old ones with me. i also scored a 1965 Motor Manual, so now i'll have the good dope on my '63 401 nailhead and my '64 413 mopar engines. it was bitter cold, but it looked like things were selling well. just about everyone leaving the building was carrying something. the outside vendors weren't selling much of anything, though. no one wanted to go outside to look.
Got to meet some nice folks and dropped a motor and trans for relay to kc via Mongo. Thanks again. Got a radiator from Mongo and some floor pans for my truck. I also got some small block chevy rebuild gaskets, cam, oil pump, etc cheaper than I could buy at the parts store and no taxes. Nothing super unique but I got stuff I needed and didn't have to pay shipping or taxes on some of it. Tim
