I have a vintage 1961 ford Boyertown truck P350 ...Both doors have a window that have fixed gl*** I would at least like to have the drivers door open for more air ... Rough open is @ 18 inches @ 22inches High @ (trucks in storage) Any thing I can use to take the 1/4 gl*** out and make my own frame so I can open them (it).. Or where I can get the supplies to make it..Thank-you!...DANiel
I ordered sliding windows from a boat place (I liked them in 2 Lane Blacktop) for a Bantam coupe. They make any size. Only problem I had was radius in corner was larger so I built up my fibergl*** doors in these spots and overlaid a layer 1/2" onto front of frames. Boxing mine in with inner fibergl*** board trim on inside. Might be easier to add window channel and regulator for conventional window, but I would seriously consider grabbing a vent and door off an old truck and running it through the kick panel or firewall where it can **** cold air.
Update! I went to my local guy that has box vans step vans etc called Bastins truck parts in Pa. He had a old 65 Chevrolet truck (delivery bread truck)that had a slider init ! it was way to big but the old school curves where perfect . I cut all sides and used channel to make sure it would stay together ..perfect light except for my cuts.. It is now at the gl*** shop for some new gl***... I'm thinking of JB weld for the cuts or just silicone Best part so far is I have $40.00 in it and it looks just like the other gl*** frames!
