Hi everyone, moved back to the Chicagoland area a few months ago after a 7 year stint in Cleveland. Turns out all my car buddies from back in the day have moved to a warmer climate and my new friends don't know a wrench from a hammer. I need a hand taking the hood off my 64 gmc, like literally holding up a side while I unbolt it and take it off. I will gladly trade you some beer and a future assist in whatever for twenty minutes of your time. Or feel free to stop by and watch while I attempt it myself, it would be worth a good laugh . Thanks for the consideration guys.
It's a full size gmc truck, and the hood is huge. The problem is lifting it off, it will definitely take two people to lift it from each side to avoid injury or worse denting stuff lol Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Tie a rope to the front from the rafters and when it's unbolted, just walk the hinge side around and lay the end on the floor and untie.
Just saw this. Won't be available until Sun afternoon owing to work schedule. Lemme know... And I know what this entails. It took 2 men AND a boy to get the hood off of my '74 DeVille. Cosmo Sent PM with contact info...
Good looking out on brauerhouse! I have been there a couple times for a beer and burger, pretty cool place. I'll have to check out the Thursday night thing there. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Maybe you could go to the Brauerhouse on Thursday with the truck and some wrenches? Put the hood in the bed.........done. Wish I was closer to you.
Sounds like a good plan, but it's currently not driveable. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
