  1. Terry, send me your number again. I need to get my web folks working on some stuff and need latches for the truck!

I dont see the need for a slammed out mini truck styled AD. So it makes me somewhat happy to see someone, despite going IFS, going with a moderate lowered truck. That can and will see some fair use.

I really like the Art deco trucks, but the AD is more of a really truck, because it drives as good as it looks.

The 260 some talked about is that A) the thriftmaster stovebolt six'er, or B) the cab/taxi engine that Smokey Yunick used at Indy with a king size turbo on it?

I like what I See so fare, and I keep watching. Merry Christmas.

Looking forward to seeing this cross member put in. I got ****ed into one of those Danforth kits that wasn't all it was made out to be. Then I just put my cab on a Dakota ch***is.

  4. I went with that front end because this truck is taking the place of me spending 30K on some late model. It will haul, tow and get me to work in style! Merry Christmas to you as well! And thanks.

Thanks T! All the OT stuff will be posted over on our sister board Dogfight. Roothawg has a good talk going on LS motors over there already in his truck thread.

  5. Teaser of Elpolackos metal mastery. Like I said, you won't see me posting much of this stuff here. Just posting this for reference. The install will be on dogfight.

I was hoping you would say that! And props for going the flatbed route, there were quite a few hot rod style out there in the 70s always thought they were cool.

  7. Thanks! You know, growing up around this stuff in the 70s and 80s must have made an impression on me! Plus, I am too lazy to find a bed and fenders ;) But also, some of the inspiration came from seeing the soft camper top that KCTA Chris made for his Model A pickup. I have an idea for a canvas top that utilizes that rollbar in front and a removeable hoop in the rear so lilt and I can camp in it!@

Also, Does anyone have the GMC hood emblem? I need one.

  8. Got the front clip off finally. Hope to get the engine/****** out soon.

  15. Building some rear wheels for it. I need to go dig up the shots. BRB.

  16. We are using 56 Chevy wheels. Used the stock 5"ers for the front and making 10s for the rear. Flatbeds have a bit of room to fill back there. I will run 31x10.5 tires. First step, using a bullet point bit I drilled out all of the rivets. Here, you can beat or press the centers out but since we are not using the hoops I cut them. The pop apart with no effort at all. 17. Two quick cuts on my bandsaw and hit the center with a cutoff wheel. The outers literally pop off. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

  18. New center not pressed in yet. Using a jig a pal made for his lathe. The back will be deep enough to hide the drums. I found a nice 9" last summer since the 55 rear turned out to be junk. We are narrowing it and having our local machine guy shorten the axles and redrill the pattern. Nice work and he is CHEAP! Outers are Bart racing blanks.

  20. Crossmember is in. Pics on Facebook since they are OT for here. Elpolacko is working on motor mounts for these kits. I am waiting for those. Also tried some rust converter on the hood. Worked great. Someone had stripped most of this truck to bare metal so it is easy to see what I am dealing with

Not yet. Have a plan to put it together for a T rpu that is starting this winter.

  27. Update time. Been slow going but getting sick has given me a new outlook. McTim is building me an engine for this. Crossmember has been in for a while. Busy adding on to the strawshop/house and our 10 year old is a baseball phenom so I am busy. Baseball is like a cult around here, we have 6-8 months of that stuff going on.
