Hi guys, what's your opinion on the way the fill neck is postioned on this radiator? I have been looking for one for our Falcon and Jegs sells these--I wouldn't buy it on Ebay. Have any of you purchased this brand radiator? http://www.ebay.com/itm/161618187779…
I wouldn't have a problem with it, but when the top tank is full the water will run out of you take the cap off.
Water will not run out when you take the cap off. The top of the fill is obviously even with the top of the tank. I've seen the Champion brand for several years now, never owned one, but I would buy it if I needed a radiator.
I purchased a champion radiator for a 29 roadster and I was not happy with it but that's been a long time ago,,they are still in business so the product had to improve. HRP
Crites sells aluminum radiators for Falcons... I've got one and really like it... http://critesperformanceparts.com/
Thanks guys! I agree, it's ugly. Also, I don't see how the upper portion on each side of the cap can be filled with coolant, it looks like air would be trapped there. I checked Rock Valley but haven't found that radiator yet. On the radiator that I supplied a link for, both inlet and outlet are on the same side. I'm going to watch for one with the lower outlet on the drivers side, seems like the full width of the radiator would be working with the in and out staggered. There are two types of Ford water pumps, one to the left and other to the right. Fun.
i have one in my 63 with a 302 not the nicest looking but fits and works just fine they make one for the drivers lower hose i got mine off of ebay about three years ago 65 mustang to 5.0l conversion
