Nice car! I see a lot of Hirohata Mercury in it, including the Cad engine.

I hadn't put the two together, but totally agree now that you mention it.

Love it,I have a obsession with 52-54 Fords and really want to build a coupe in the future. HRP

  7. What a killer car. Really digging that and loving the mill. Very clean simple custom.

    It sure has :)
Here is another photo of Ken's Ford, courtesy of Wild Child's Custom Shop! The photo was taken
at the 1956 NHRA Nationals in Kansas City, Missouri.

I guess he's towing his 1931 Model A Roadster in the photo:

By 1957, the roadster was owned by Wes Bevly of Corpus Christi, Texas....do anyone know what happened to these historic Texas builds?

That's the first thing that also hit me. The big question for me is what color was the Ford painted?

Very cool car! The '52-'54 Ford Club Coupes have great proportions. That stance is perfect in combination with the skirts. The legs are perfect in combination with the open door!

Am I right: is that a '55-'57 T-bird automatic floor shift? Would he have likely used it with the Cad Hydramatic or the Ford-o-matic?

371 would make it Olds powered. I'm guessing either 331 or 365?

It does appear to be a 1st gen T bird shifter.

I have a '53 2 door sedan, my first car, chopped poorly in high school, and I have a '52 club coupe parts car that was going to donate the roof skin to help fix my poorly executed chop, but cars like this make me think I should just make my car a coupe with a full height roof.

^^ I have that same pic above saved on my computer as well. I also have a gl***top roof and thought of making a gl***top coupe, could be neat.

371 is a '57 -'58 -'59 Olds cid number, but so is a .030" overbored 365 Caddy. The picture of the engine shows it to be Cad, not Olds.

I like most of the modifications on this mild custom. The one thing that doesn't grab me is that stock '53 grille. Maybe more teeth would help, but I really think that something less readily identifiable would have worked better here. K6
