Looks like it wouldn't be that hard to modify, of course with the right skill set. I'll bet Hurst took a Ford-parts part and had their way with it. Some of the factory machining on the draglink ball & socket end is tricky.

I have one of these hanging on the wall brand new, bought it from a buddy for $20.00 last year and haven't installed it yet.

I am jealous!!! I looked all over for one of those things for over a year when I was building the y block to go in my 53... I found both sets of the vintage Hurst motor mounts, but I ended up making a center sump oil pan out of a stock front sump pan by cutting it and flipping it.

There's a picture of it about halfway down in the link below...

I bought it for $50.00 from guy at EBay because it didn't sell. Used it on my '53 because I used the Merc rear sump pan. Did same on my old '53 when I put a Chev in it. Works great and shoud not be difficult to make.

That doesn't look that hard to make. Tack weld a piece of angle iron the same length to keep your end links correctly oriented and then cut out your center section just like the ebay one. Weld in your doglegs and new center section. Cut the tack welded angle iron bar back off of it and you're good.
