While that can be helpful, at least to get you started, be mindful that on a transparent color, as this can be, the color of the ground coats can affect the tone of the finish coat. Then there's the problem of obsolete colors. My '36 roadster for instance is painted with a straight maroon toner off the Sikkens mixing rack..................however, they dropped that line of paint about 7 years ago so that exact toner is no longer available. (Dial in the talents of a good color matcher here.)
My 36 Willys sedan, was only finished a week or two before we set out to Tulsa from NY for the NSRA street rod nats in 1976. Color was 1975 BMW Malaga Red and we used the Glasurit paint. Pat
Great thread as I have been hunting for the "just right" maroon or burgandy for several years to paint the 48 with. In a search I found that there are 819 Maroon color chips out there. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?color=Maroon&rows=50 I'm leaning close to this color that I saw at the Inland Emperor's run last year
1934 Coupe...Have you sill got that '36 sedan?...if not, where did it go? Been a Willys guy since the '60s, and just finishing a '36 sedan (boy are they small inside)all 37-42 stuff before this...Sorry...it's not maroon. g-willys

Yup, ...I like Maroon and that ox-blood colour....reminds me of the old days when my dad had his 31 ford coupe in the early 60's---he was always switching between blue teal and Maroon every spring...that maroon was just so mesmerizing...he was a big one on 'changing' colours, but I preferred that deep dark maroon any day of the week!!!
