I'll be interested that is similar build to what I have in mind. Real numbers seem to be hard to find. May be a few more people will post with actual numbers from trad set ups.

This one was 292", High Dome Navarro heads, JE pistons, Isky 404 A camshaft and a Vertex Mag. On an engine dyno it made 225 hp. This was back in 2001. Had trouble with the radius tappets and replaced it with a 425 Schneider, never tested it again. Roadster Show 2.jpg

Maybe it pulled some pretty weak numbers, or maybe it blew up on the dyno run?

We would kill for a 225 hp engine for our 1949 Ford Flathead Bonneville Truck !!!!! No blower....

Me too. That's what I thought too. That is a lot of HP from a flatty without a huffer!

We had a lot of fun with that car, including the times we put Indy Veteran "Len Sutton" behind the wheel, on a 1/4 mile dirt track. P7130010.JPG

    Dyno numbers ?????

  15. Guess he didn't like his numbers . . . and no longer wanted to share! My guess - about 130 to 140 at the rear . . . if it 'lived' through the experience! :)
