Here are a few pics of my topolino altered build, chassis started as a 125 inch moly piece I purchased as a complete roller ( was injected small block chev / powerglide ). Plan is for a blown 392 hemi. These pics are 3 years old, many more to follow. Glen 100_3007 (Medium).JPG 100_3011 (Medium).JPG 100_3012 (Medium).JPG

A few more pics. Chassis shortened to 105 inch and mark williams torsion bar added as well as mark williams front axle. Front hubs made from solid alloy to mount replica 10 spoke wheels. All work on this project has been done by myself in home garage. Glen (Melbourne Australia) 100_3033 (Medium).JPG 100_3037 (Medium).JPG 100_1066 (Medium).jpg

Great looking race car! My buddy and I campaigned this Anderson bodied Fiat with a flathead in the 80s.

This is the third (and hopefully last) fuel tank that I have built, not much room for tank so I had to be creative, holds approx 18 litres ( just over 4 gallons - hope its enough ), outlet is dash 16, three returns on top, vent in cap. Removable top for cleaning. I wanted to maintain the old time look when body is down. Decided to build my own mechanical shifter, first pics are mock using steel scrap. Final product is polished alloy, shifter will be electric (push button on wheel or tacho operated) from 1st to 2nd. It was hinged to locate neutral / reverse. Gate has a hinged - spring loaded top that prevents locating neutral / reverse while racing. Pics tell the story. Only sugeston is to remove the rear trans mount and let the trans float off the back of the engine, 97.3% of that cars are made that way without issues.
    Heres a fuel tank I made for a F/A, customer needed 12Gal

I built tank with the nostalgia look in mind, I am prepared to build another if 4 gallons is not enough (what do you think), I can extend my tank at the top - there is no other room to go unless I change the shape, but will loose the old time look. Your workmanship is awesome, I'm still learning but getting better with practice. As for trans mount, you can see its built up with washers as I was going to place a rubber block in there, so I can do as you suggest. Glen

Love the Mr Boston Topolino, Glen your car is looking good. I also like the fact that both cars are not chop tops with the cage way above the roof line.

Gotta love an Altered! No push button/ computer driven snooze-mobiles! Your car looks great; takes me back to the sixties. ( I think; I don't remember them that well!)
