Worn out from driving 3 -1/2 hours to Garlits Museum held on his grounds, March 21, 2015. Stayed to 2 pm, walked through the show car area witnessing some neat cars then finalizing my attendance at Big Daddy's awesome museum! I have to mention that his personal collection of hot rods, customs, awesome dragsters and racing memorabilia is SECOND TO NONE! Then I went to his "stocker" collection at his other museum, only to find a few cars that piqued my interest (old original hot rods from the fifties, some early customs, etc.). Attendance seemed a bit low on car count, but this did not seem to matter to the hundreds of spectators! Here are some of my photos taken in the museum...
Guys, since this site was re-designed, I'm having trouble uploading photos... Keeps giving me a message that the file is too large. Any help?
I'll have to cut down the files using a paint program, only this will be a bit time consuming with a bunch of high resolution photos... Bear with me!
It was a good show; my favorite part was the addition of vintage travel trailers this year. only a few but they were really cool. Hats off to host club the Salvagerz- well done.
Oldie: Pull a pic of your choice, click on paint (at the top right), click on image, click on resize. You'll see two boxes with 100 in them. Change them to 50 and save the pic. Ready to go. It will take a while if you want to do multiple pics.. Tim
SUCCESS!!!! Here's more... Do not know how many at a time I can send, but will try to upload more quan***y...
These photos were taken in his garage where Big Daddy and his new girlfriend/wife were hanging out signing autographs, etc. In my opinion, Don had the best hot rod at the show... That red coupe just blew me away! Check out the cog belt on the blower...
Your welcome sir! Although I do have to admit that I screwed up with all my photos that were taken outside at the car show... It seems that I hit a ****on on my smartphone that apparently affected the lens setting and got completely whited out so to speak. Yeh, I was a bit mad for sure. Truthfully, there only a few out there that worth my attention anyway. My true enjoyment was attending the Drag Museum and his garage where he was hanging out.
You're welcome sir... Had some trouble posting at first, but came through. I admitted screwing up with my photos on the car show grounds at my last post...
Try 516 x 290, worked like a charm. If you're using PAINT to resize your photos, make sure you have checked the "maintain aspect ratio" to keep the photos original length and width.
Thanks for the preview. I'm planning on going to the museum in June when I am out that way. I was hoping to get there when a show was on but that isn't going to happen, oh well.
Thanks for posting. We were @ the Gatornationals in 1988 or so when the 1st day of qualifying was rained out. My partner and I went to look for the Garlits museum (hadn't opened yet) we wanted to just walk about. We walked in and got a 30 minutes tour by "big" hisself! What a treat he and Art Malone were working on a Swamp Rat in the back garage...
