The Western, N.Y. chapter of The Early Ford V8 Club is presenting their annual Spring Fling swap meet this coming Sunday (March 29, 2015) at the Total Sports Experience (TSE) building, located at 800 Elmgrove Rd., Rochester, NY, from 9:00am-4:00pm. Admission is $5.00. This is an indoor swap meet with approximately 130 tables of great car parts, collectibles and other vehicle related items - NOT just limited to Ford parts - something for everyone. Hope to see you there !!
I was just going to post and ask if this was worth taking the 1 1/2 hr drive from Buffalo. So......., is it?
Thanks for posting this. I was just looking for info about this event. I sent it out to all my car friends in the area.
I missed it last year when they switched locations so I can't say if it got any bigger than it used to be. There is usually a nice selection of stuff and great people but, for me, it wouldn't be big enough to warrant a 1-1/2 hour trip. Then again, if I found the rare part I was looking for, it could be. Tends to be a wide variety of stuff from early Ford parts through 60-70's muscle car parts and speed equipment. There are some vendors that look like they sell stuff year round and other guys who are cleaning out their garage and ba*****ts of old parts. Not sure that helps. Just my previous experience of the event.
Is this the same meet that used to be at a small fire hall. Maybe off the 490? Either way, the wife and I will make a day of it and start there, then got to a couple of Rochester only (none in Buffalo) stores. Of course we will have to eat at Roehrbock Brewery or Sticky Lips on the way home. So it will be worth the drive!
I am planning on making the hour and half drive up from Horseheads with some friends looking forward to it! Jim
"Is this the same meet that used to be at a small fire hall. Maybe off the 490?" I think you're thinking of a swap meet in East Shelby, which I thing is in February. That's nowhere near as large as The EFV8 meet here. "I was just going to post and ask if this was worth taking the 1 1/2 hr drive from Buffalo." Up to you - I would, but then, I'm a swap meet junkie. I've found some great stuff there over the years.
First time since it started that I will miss it this year. Needed a Grandson fix so I will be paying them a visit. I guess Carlisle will have to be my first one this year. Have fun Tagman. The 37 Chevy Pickup I bought from you years ago may be coming back into the family. My son in Michigan is interested and has been talking to the current owner.
Tag i'll be there as usual trying to sell some of my no longer needed things...and as always looking for more things i dont need. Haha Its not a bad swap meet for those interested...there is the usual junk but sometimes you can find some cool stuff there if you look hard enough. Seeya Sunday. Tony
Tony, Phil - looking forward to seeing you guys. Ray, I might have some pics of both those trucks taken when they were pulled out of the barns. If he gets the truck, let me know and I'll dig 'em up for him. Sorry you'll miss the swap meet, but seeing my grandkids would be about the only good reason for doing so - have fun !!
Phil, Sorry you won't be able to make it here. I sure hope it's nothing that can't fixed with some meds or just taking it easy. We're praying for you. -Bob
Sunday Morning getting ready to head out the door Bump looking forward to seeing everyone there weather looks good!
How about some feedback ?? I did fantastic as a Vendor at the swap meet, but I'd like to hear what other Vendors & Buyers thought of it.
I did pretty good overall. Short sold a bunch of stuff but the buyers were happy and i didnt need to bring the stuff home so that made me happy. Haha Didnt find anything new i wanted to bring home though. Tony
