image.jpg My '60 F100 project. I'm planning to run the stock Y-block 292 and three on the tree...

  2. I'm not sure that I would call that an orphan but it is a neat truck and unless the engine is shot there is nothing in the world wrong with a y block 3 speed combo.

Yes, a Y-block with three on the tree is a very cool combo in my book. And as '****** said, not an orphan.
Now if they were Mercurys . . .

Why, mercury is no orphan, it's brother of ford. An International, Studebaker or Hudson would be an Orphan by definition, just giving a few obvious examples...

I've heard the '57-'60 F series called the orphans because the earlier and later models always have gotten more love over the years. I have always loved the '60s and since I was born in '60 I really wanted to do my best to save this one...

Even if the Y block is worn out they are easy to fix.Not as cheap as a sbc,but not in the early hemi cl*** either:)

  7. Plymouth, I have seen two in my life time.

The '57-'60 are more of a red headed step child than an orphan. :D
