Pulled the ecotec in favor of a 14:1 hilborn injected sbc on alcohol. We hope to have it ready for the Hot Rod Reunion in June. Solid 8" Halibrands with slicks out back and 670-15 Firestones up front.

Nice car — I saw it at SO-CAL when being built. I will look for the car at the HRR.

Interested in knowing the primary reason for the change? To have more weekends of fun? or is there a plan to return to the salt?
Looks like a barrel of fun!

Wow - so, how did the car do at Bonneville? will be quite a change from full miles to fractions of a mile.

The reason for the change is,a s you said to have some weekend fun. When we originally built the car we did so with the idea of doing both Bonneville and the drags. The car was also street legal. We drove the roadster from Pomona to Bonneville and went 207mph on our first pass. I'm sure we'll go back to Bonneville with it. My son is 10. He reminds me almost daily that he can race it soon.

The car did well at Bonneville. It currently holds the G/BGR and G/BFR records at Bonneville. Current record 210.881 in G/BFR. IMG_1093.JPG IMG_1293.JPG IMG_1436.JPG

  17. Looking great! I love the headers!

  18. When you get them welded up would you please post a picture of them on the floor. I would like to use a similar design on my street car. Thanks. I am using the same type of pipes with baffles in them for the street. These are custom scavenger tubes made my Russ Meeks. I love this look. Three pipes each side. Olds 371 is why. exhausts pipes 002.jpg

    Hey Curbspeed,

I am in LOVE with your coupe. Outstanding work. I"ll get some photos of the headers tomorrow. The roadster saw daylight for the first time in a while. I think I might go smaller on the front tire diameter. IMG_1168.jpg IMG_1171.jpg IMG_1163.jpg

  20. Thank you for the nice compliment. I am a big fan of Bonneville and love that roadster of yours. One bad mutha! Tire size is a little large like you say. What is that on there? 6.00x16? Moon discs look good too.

Thank you. The front tires are Firestone 6.70-15. I like the tire style, just too much side wall. I'm going to look at the 5.60-15. I'll lose about an inch and quarter, but that tire is way too big! I really like your work. Love the Olds. Would love to put an Olds in my roadster, but I've had the Chevy for a while. Do you have any updates on your coupe?

  22. Just doing small stuff right now. I am recovering from major foot surgery. Had to straighten all five toes so I'm limited for awhile on how much I can stand. I am already doing too much as it is. Trying to get a bunch of small piddly stuff done than I'm starting bodywork. I am actually looking forward to it

Those look like some big injectors! I have 2 5/8ths on mine and those look bigger! How many inches is the engine?

Decided not to make the 13 hour pull to the Hot Rod Reunion because of the weather. Car was ready so we thought we should test it.
