couple small updates. front grille and lights are on. I went with some hella lights as opposed to the standard sealed beam, its a little bit of a cleaner lens and is considerably brighter. and the seats are completed ( the fronts dont have the lower side trim or the tracks yet) and the rears.
some minor updates. Decided to pull the headers and clean them up and polish them. Im very happy with the result, and cant wait to see them turn a nice gold. replaced the worm clamps with gates powergrips. installed my rear view camera bodyworked and painted the rearview mirror mount
Just finished reading the 10 pages ! Bad*** work, inspirational project, love the engine/trans combo and you actually made that ****ty looking engine look quite good ! It`ll be a great driver once finished I`m sure ! Looks killer !! Thanks for keeping at it and posting, even the none approved HAMB stuff
small update, I brought the car out to Tucci Engineering in Marcy NY so the rest of the gl*** can be cut and installed. While its out there I will be going out periodically to ****on up some small ends such as A/C lines, Steering stops, Air filters and some small stuff. I also fabricated a panel to hold the ignition, the headlight switch, and the cruise control ****ons. which is almost invisible once the extra key is removed.
Car is still out at Tucci Engineering, not too happy with the pace of things but I was told itll be done by the end of the month. I did get some stuff done, Not pictured but I did get the door openers installed, made a mount for the OBD2 port, finished up the taillight wiring. I also got the front garnish moldings chopped down and fit.
SO the car is tuned and back home. It made 400hp and 385ftlbs to the tires through a fairly big converter and an auto. I put some miles on the car and its scary fast. Ill be doing a bunch to get it ready for the Adirondack nationals this weekend.
So a nice little update, Ive been thrashing to get the car done and ready for SEMA. I managed to get it "done" haha. first off one of the local shows I went to about a month ago I ran into a guy with a bone stock unrestored 54 chevy. Funny to look at it next to this car. Then the transmission started slipping, well $2200 later I now have a new one that is rated for the proper power. and the new one after the mechanical was addressed it was time to do some cosmetic. I had painted the car back in February however never sanded and buffed it. I did this because I knew the car was gonna be shifted around a bit from the gl*** shop to the upholstery shop ext ext. Sure enough by the time I had got the car back the hood and one of the fenders had gotten scratched and needed to be repainted. so once that was done I finally took the time to make the paint perfect. 3000 grit 5000 grit and the result Next up is the license plate, its kind of a unique plate in that it belonged to a New York Senator, So in addition to the plate I also got a br*** senator parking p*** that would have been displayed on the dash. So as far a a license plate frame I looked and looked for something that would be fitting. Ultimately I came up short so I had an idea to continue the mid 50s politician theme, the " I like Ike" campaign that Eisenhower ran in 1952. So I drew up a design for a frame that I would think would be period. I then had my friend Nick 3D print it. I then painted it to look like a 60 year old cast metal frame. next up was the interior. I had the seats done back earlier in the year but dropped the car off to get the headliner, door panels and carpet done. I drew out the design and had the guy make it. However I did have to do the rear garnish moldings due to the chop. and the final result. I did move into a new house which finally has a 2 car garage so I can have both of my cars under 1 roof, and on top of that the car gets shipped off to Las Vegas tomorrow for the SEMA show, so stay tuned for that!
so some pictures from sema. one final touch prior to it leaving, functional rear view camera thats on all the time. loaded up in the trailer. unloaded cruising the strip a little. went out of town to get some proper pictures of the car. https://scontent-lga3-1.**.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12240108_10156070778950478_7829519065213001274_n.jpg?oh=6a381273e5e990360ba94bc006623689& oe=56E47022 some taken with a proper camera. now for the actual show. set up day. the sponsors booth all set up battle of the builders reception, did win anything but once I saw some of the other cars i was competing against (including chip foose and bobby alloway cars) I couldnt be mad. The car who placed were all 500k plus builds built by huge shops. Caught David Freiburger checking out the car and chatted with him for about 10 minutes. Super cool guy and loved the car. later that day the car popped up their instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/9mm64YJZGF/ sema rollout sema ignited and thats a wrap
