Technical sbc starter/alt rebuild

Getting ready to rebuild the starter and alt. that will go in our '60 chevy p/u...
What is the best method for removing the bushings from the cases??

If I remember right, I just used a small narrow straight screw driver and carefully bent one side of the bushing in and then pried it out.

But it has been years and years...

1/2" tap ... maybe it was a 9/16", for the starter end plate. The other (dr) end can be pushed out.
