Chuck Walker, who once worked for Hot Rod Garage, lives right down the road from the garage. He posted on facebook that the tornado turned into a waterspout as it crossed the Arkansas River, then lifted as it went directly over Chuck's house. So apparently no damage right there, but a little further east, the Aim High gymnastics academy was hit, taking roof off building. 60 people in building who all took shelter in ba*****t, no injuries.
Just got off the phone with Shelly, Jason's wife, and she said it got real close, but no damage to the shop. She said "Larry, you know my redneck husband was out there taking pictures of the tornado? I told him to get his *** in the paint booth right now!"
Well, you know that in our part of the country, a tornado siren means grab camera, run outside and look up! I am glad they sustained no damage.
Yep. I was talking to a guy at church last night from India. He said he slept through the whole deal. I told him he just hasn't lived here long enough to know he was supposed to be out on the porch watching. Good to hear they didn't get any damage.
Glad to hear no damage at the infamous Hot Rod Garage! I live in tornado country too, but not as bad and not as often as Oklahoma.....Joe
