Success teaches us nothing. Chalk it up as a good learning experience and I think we all got something good out of it as well.

That's a good way to think about it. I've made some dumb moves that cost me time and money that I wish I hadn't made. But live and learn. Now I know what not to do next time around.

For anouther update, i broke it in today and put about 30 miles on it. It runs like a top, pulls like a SOB from speed and that M22 howl is music!!! On the other hand, i still need to burn off most of a tank of 87 octane, so i had to dump a couple bottles of octane booster in it so it wouldn't detonate while going into gear and still isnt happy. So on my way to work tomarrow i'll trade out the AC r45s's for a set of r43's and pull the 66 jets out and go some 68's. This weekend i'll look at timing too, i forget what the mallory YC distributer curved out at( i think it was close to early centrifical 'vette specs when i ran it on my machine), but it needs a hair less advance too, right now my inital is dialed down to 4 degrees to fix my "all in". Also i gotta replace that automatic ratio, i'm thinking 3.73's. It sure is fun having the baddest daily driver on the work commute again!!!

Pull the distributor out of a small block Chevy and you will see the oil holes. The oil galley for the lifters on the right side of the cam goes through the distributor hole.
