Hey guys, I squeezed a 59 f100 dash into my plymouth and am looking for any pictures of third gen ford trucks that have pinstriped dashes for ideas. Here is a picture of the dash ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1427657555.551347.jpg

  2. Not a 57-60, but check out Ryno's Unibody, it has some very nice work on it, post #126.

I like the look of the three gauge setup in that dash. Details?

They are just cheap dolphin gauges, I have heard the horror stories about them online but have had very good luck with them, still getting the car finished up for the summer but no issues yet with them. I have A build thread with pics of my chopping up the dash and getting it to fit

Just get the brush wet and go. Im a symmetry fan, but a dash can be anything

That looks pretty damn cool. The FB 57-60 F100 group has photos and I know I have seen some dashes pinstriped in there and fairly recently too.

  6. Before you decide whether or not to put pinstriping on a dashboard, let me ask you a question: Have you ever driven a car with a striped dash? The reason I ask is that what happens is the striping is reflected off the windshield as a double image(***uming it has safety gl*** in it)and can be very distracting while driving. It looks like you don't have a lot of visibility from the driver's seat and the last thing you want to do is make it worse.
To get an idea of what I'm talking about;lay some 1/8th tape in some random patterns on the top of the dash and then put it out in the bright sunlight so you can see the reflections I'm talking about.Having done that you may want to re-think stripes on the dash.

  7. At diffrent times of the day, light will reflect all manner of things in your windshield, so stripes shouldn't be any different.
I've had a car with a striped dash, and never had any problem.

Stripe that dash up, go nuts!

  8. I can only go by what I have experienced and how many people have asked me to remove striping from their dashboards after driving with them for awhile. Some people aren't bothered by it and that is fine. I only suggested that to save any additional grief in removing stripes if they became an issue.

Well I did some striping, no where near perfect but neither is the car or the black paint that's on the dash itself. I like how it turned out though, adds just enough gold to tie the the rest of the gold into the car
