So I have an old edmunds dual deuce intake for my 261. When I put the motor together I notice that the intake didn't have the relief cut in the runners for the alignment rings. I have develop a vacuum leak do to the intake not aligned within intake port. I'm looking to have the alignment relief cut in the intake. I don't know of and good machine shops in my area so if anyone knows of a good machine shop I could contact the help would be greatful. Thanks
Did you get this settled up? If not, contact me through the stovebolt website. (The PMs here don't notify me, and I want to line you up with someone that can help!) We are near Detroit, but can pry help you if needed, and find you a place closer to you through our Inliners Roster
I counter bored this guys intake for him. After getting better center to center info. Measurement is not his strong point.
216 intakes on 235 heads is a patch job. You should consider using a better intake, even more so if the Edmunds is the water heated version. Any 235 - 261 name brand 2 single with the right carbs will run stronger & fit.
i was looking at that manifold when it was here, and wondering who would make a manifold with 1 1/4 dia. runners. It isn't any harder or more expensive to make 1 1/2 runners. Then I thought maybe the idea was to keep up velocity at the RPM the thing would be mostly used at. Few of them were sold new to be put on fully hoped up engines. Most went on stock 216 or 235 'bolts that became over carbureted. So maybe they really worked well in the real world.
