Hey all, I needed to try and get another inch out of the rear end of my Chevy and went to Jamco for the 2 inch block kit (It's already got posies). While mounting the new blocks I see the square U bolts aren't threaded enough, the threads actually end about 1/2 to 3/4 inches too short. I know I can throw on a few washers to take up the slack, but I think it seems weird. The kit came with one washer for each side of each bolt.

Funny thing is I previously had the one inch block kit and it was the same way. I stacked 3 washers on each side to make that one work..

So, contact Jamco. But, good luck.. Plus, I can't think of any critical system in a car, like the suspension, that recommends "throw a few washers on it">.

Jamco will be getting a call when they open tomorrow. I was curious if anyone else had run into the same issue with other lowering block kits out there..

I wanted to make a quick update. I took the u bolts back to Jamco and they were super helpful. At one point I had 3 different sales people trying to find a solution. They looked through their inventory of square u bolts to try and find one with longer threads. They ended up giving me a set of much shorter bolts that had a much longer threaded area. When I got home I tried them out but realized I couldn't get the nuts all the way on since the bolts were shorter. Jamco offered to have longer bolts made for me but it would've been a week wait time and I was in a rush to get it done. I ended up driving to Fontana and having a set made that fit perfectly. Even though it didn't work out, I totally appreciate the effort by the guys at Jamco, they did everything they could.

Except, maybe, having the right parts the first time? I think the difference is that you could show up at their shop. Most of the online complaints-and there are quite a few-are from folks who can't make the trip-and too far away to really cause a scene.

Glad it worked out for you, though.
