Saw this at the Goodguys swap meet. It didn't sell so afterwards made a deal with the seller and got it cheaper.
I know there's not much there, but what is there is metal.
This will be my first old Ford!

The rockers have been cut so the body pieces all separate.

Looks buildable. What are your plans for a top? Are you planning to make a roadster, a steel roof coupe, or a sport coupe? Just curious.

No thank you for asking. I want to do a roadster. But I know it's not a real roadster so a coupster, or fakester or whatever anyone else wants to call em. I have been looking for a steel roadster body for a couple years but pickins seem slim even here in California. I read that the coupsters offered a little more room? If that's correct that would be nice. At 6'2" the roadsters I sat in were a bit snug. But man have I always wanted to build one.
But please, this is my first traditional hot rod I hopefully get to do. So please any advice along the way will be very welcome, thank you. I have two other vehicles I'm finishing now, but of course I'm already ordering catalogs and scanning craigslist.
I have a 331 hemi ready for the machine shop, but I have never got to build a flathead so undecided on the motor.
I'm not sure what frame to use, I know I want it ******* and on the low side, but not in the weeds.
Again thank you for all advice.

Looks like it'll be a rad build. If my doors had looked like that, I'd have done a sport coupester. Check out my build thread and you'll see how I handled the conversion.

I would go with a 32 frame. You can get or make anything you need for them, and it would be stronger than an A Model frame.

My plans are open to change with suggestions from members on here.
PS (It's too late to take it back)

  13. You can turn it into a rumble lid or trunk lid,you just need the right mounting kit.Is it gl*** or steel?
either way it doesn't appear to have a mounting hole yet for a trunk handle or rumble lid handle.
    Great start there!Good luck.

1940s style. from ebay many years ago. 32 frame, trans. 32 truck grille. Wide five wheels and caps.

a 1950s style would likely be channeled and most had an OVH 8, but some still had flathead.

both styles sat level more often than a rake. Channeled cars looked real low, but had good clearance underneath.

keep looking at pics while you fix the body.

  15. You've got a good start, good luck on your build. A lot of good information here an the HAMB.

Please don't take it the wrong way when someone calls it a coupster. It's just a roadster with longer doors.
I find ever bit as good as a roadster.
It's how you build them that matter!!

They are a little more spacious (sp) the doors are longer, the quarters are shorter. The tulip/swallow/sailpanel is thinner. That's the piece between the "Man hole" and the "things hole".
I like the shop on the door [emoji12]
There are several good builds on here, so you can see what people change. Check out the mat***ude by @texas speed shop. Or @Austinrod has a survivor.

That will turns out good, with a coupster and Hemi you are on the right track.

Get a big cup of coffee (only a suggestion or something else), take shoes of/put legs up and google roadster details in picture search. Then do the came with sports coupes and coupster.

Remember from front legs (the thing in front of door posts) and forward, and the trunk front edge and back they are the same. It's the hole in middle that's different.

    Get welding. [emoji41]

Nothing wrong with building a coupester. There will be days of joy and days of frustration but that's just part of the game.

You've got lots of good stuff to work with- take your time, and keep hanging around those highly addictive swap meets, and before you know it you be cruisin'. Congratulations; nice score.
