I was running the backroads here in AR. and came across these. Everyone said nothing was for sale but I must have STUPID on my forehead because I started off buying one with the hopes of buying the rest. I bought this Comet and yes its "For Sale".

    is that a military COE?

  7. Yes! That's a Military COE. Not exactly Sure of the make. I've got a
1956 Ford COE that's got a Aluminum Van Body. With Double Full Rear Wide Doors, an has 3Ft Square Side Doors with a Square Metal Tunnel across the Width of the
Van Body. It was a Air Force Dispatch COE to carry the Air Crew
From their Crews Quarters to the
B-52 Bomber on the Tarmac. It has a
Air Force Stencile on the Dash ' Not to Exceed 15 MPH on Base! Has a Ladder at the back with a small metal roof Carrier on Top. I was to make a NASCAR Infield COE Van to
    Watch Races at Texas Motorplex
    Speedway. Regards Respectfully

Wow, nice find! I would have started with something other than the Comet, but that's just me.
You should go back for the Sport Coupe and that straight Shoebox before you start negotiating the whole lot, which may trigger him to stop further sales and look into market value and start "taking offers" (his own auction) on the hoard...

Did you ask what he has stashed away in out buildings (cars, parts, etc)?

I started with the one he would sell. He will sell all of the Model A stuff but I din't like his price and I didn't want to be in too deep. He says he is going to fix the Shoebox. I tried hard to buy it but I don't know the prices of shoeboxes and he kept saying NO.
