I know it's cold outside and the snow is flying in several parts of the country, but I'm wondering what are you planning to bring to the H.A.M.B. drags for 2015 ?? Post a reply or post that your car is in the video. Check out this cool video for coverage of last years event.
I've always brought my '29 Tudor Model A but I have been throwing around the idea of bringing my bone stock '51 Hudson Super 6 this year. This is my one time a year to thrash on the Sedan and go fast legally so it's gonna be a hard choice.
If I make it I probably won't be bringing anything but my *** and both hands. On a side note there was at least one car in that vid that could have used my *** and both hands.
I have plans to bring the Bel Air this year hope to get some track time in before so I don't make as big a fool of myself as I did on its first outing.
Rent something pre '64 and drive it like you rented it. Salt flats, The only way you could make a fool out of yourself in a 409 chevy post car is to stall it in the staging lanes. if that happens I'll run out in front of you so you have an excuse.
Relax, "junk", as in "jalopy", as in "a solid driver", as in "not a show car", as in "they are just old cars, don't take life too seriously".
Must be the difference between Australia and California. Over here if your Missus says "shift the junk out of the driveway" it usually means you dumped a load of iron oxide encrusted swap meet 'necessary equipment' acquisitions and was going for a beer with a mate. Obviously in California it means "Sweetheart, can you move the Jalopy out of the drive so I can pick up those parts for you?"
Bringing my super slow 54 Chevy again and if every thing works out a grudge race with Denise for ice cream. Later, ****
Well ****** I didn't stall it at the line but my first outing at Great Bend last year I was shooting ducks all weekend. I guess its time to get it off the trailer and try and figure this thing out.
I certainly don't take life as seriously as the rest of the ****** heads on this board. LOL There used to be a place here in town that was called "Rent A Wreck" and that was what they rented old cars, mostly sedans in the pre-64 range. They were cheap and a lot of fun but it was BYO tools and a lot of the time you needed your own tools. You didn't pay for repairs unless they were obviously because you abused it bad, but if it came back on the flatbed you paid for the tow. I guess if I had the time (and the inclination) to fix the brakes on my Willys I would let you drive it. Well its got lights and a horn right? I got an antique tag you can use, get it out and drive it.
I am new to this board and am trying to find out when and where the HAMB drags are this year! I wanna bring my old 230 powered belair out and see what it will do. Any info is greatly appreciated!
