    54 Pontiac,
Anybody have any idea how much I can de-arc the rear leafs without getting into shackle bind problems?

Why not you use lowering blocks, come in various heights.
    Much easier, won't affect shackles!

I'll use up to a 2" block if I have to. I just think anything taller starts to look "cobbled" and it's hard on suspension due to the leverage.
The de-arcing won't cost me anything either.
Trying to get 4" and I can get that without using blocks at all. BUT, at some point those springs are going to get long enough to push the bottom of the rear shackle too far. OR are they?
Just don't want to overdo it.

  4. 3-4" is about your limit on a de-arched spring. I would go two and use a 1 or 2" block. a 2" block won't hurt you any unless you are throwing mega torque at it.

Thanks pnb. That was actually my "safe" plan. Two and Two and be done with it.
I guess I was just hoping somebody had de-arced a set 3+ and had no problems.

Also wondering if 54 Chevy front uprights will bolt onto this Pontiac?
If so, that'd be a quick and easy 3" for the front.
