As stated in the ***le, I am wanting to put a flathead temperature sending unit in a sbc motor, due to using '40 ford gauges and wanting my sending units to match my gauges. I know the sending unit will fit in my sbc, but do you need to cut down the "probe" of the sending unit or just leave it full length? It is a good 2-3 inches long, I was unsure if this would matter or not. As always any help would be greatly appreciated!

  2. Where are you going to put it? Block, head, intake?

Where in the Chevy block would the temperature sender fit ?
I can see it in the intake or head, but block ?
Shortening the probe will kill it.
