OK guys. Putting some new wheels and rubber on the Model A.

Would love to get everyone's feedback and opinions on what I should do.

Currently running Mickey Thompson Indy Profile's 215/70-14 in the front and 345/50-15's in the back. Definitely know I want to go smaller in the front. 205/50-14's or something? New rims and tires, ok shoot!

  2. I'd go to 15's and 16's and my general input is go smaller in front and taller and skinnier in rear

I like the coupe and rear bobbed fenders.. Can't go wrong with early 16" or 15" and big and little Firestones.. I know, I know, everyone has them but there is a reason why.. I think chrome rims with the rears reversed and big and little Firestones would also be a good choice for your car...

What era are you shooting for with this build? The early Ford style skinny wheels, like what is shown above, are great looking, I have them on my car, but they're really for a late 40's or early 50's look, where as your rearend setup and engine give a much more 60's vibe to me. Chrome reverse 15x7 rears with cheater slicks and 15x5" front runners would look nice, or the same sizes with straight spoke Torq Thrust mags would work too. Whitewalls on the chrome wheels would be a late 50's look, redlines or blackwalls on those or the mags would be more 60's looking and I personally think would fit your car better. Are you planning paint? That would also be a factor.

Posting this in the Photoshop thread to see pics of your car with different styles of wheels would help make a determination.

Hell I'm not sure I'm at a loss. Its been this way for 12 years now. Looking to change it up a bit. Not sure if I should lose the rear fenders and go with some white wall skinnies. I like the mags just not sure how they would look? Don't have paint in the future right now so not really considering that at the moment.

Definately diggin the top one but would probably have to lower her in the back. Hell I like them both but feel like I'm so close to the bottom right now. Appreciate the photos!

Listen to squablow...16" is silly on a mid 50s to mid 60s build. No, it is poser city...

Rodders used the latest tires and steering wheels, for the most part...15 came out in the late 40s on most cars, and 14 came out in later 50s.

Mags, chrome reverse, whatever...14 is fine, we ran those at times on the fronts.

To each his/her own. I run with 600-16 up front on 4" wheels and 750-16 in back on 5 inch wheels.

Really got my eye on these firestone cheater slicks, and leaving my rims be for now. Forgot to mention the rear is a little lower than the pics posted now. Anyways what ya thinking of these for the rear? And I need some help getting a matching or close pair for the front to fit a 14x5.
